Cluj residents of all ages are awaited to celebrate International Workers’ Day, 1st of May, at a picnic at Iulius Park: Picnic in the Park. The organizers are the Jazz in the Park team and they propose a full day of concerts, mini-theatre plays, contests, games and various outdoor activities.
“We wanted to create a 1st of May in the style of Jazz in the Park for the Cluj residents who wish to stay in town, to convince them to go outside and to involve them in activities with their friends and family. We chose Iulius Park to accustom the community to take advantage of more parks from the town”, declared Alin Vaida, the director of Jazz in the Park.
The Picnic in the Park participants will enjoy two musical programmes. During lunch, between 14.00 and 16.00, there will perform three bands of youngsters from “The Beat” musical school, with pupils between 7 and 19 years old. In the evening, starting with 17:30, there will perform Basska, Shazalakazoo (Serbia), and the closing of the event will be made by those from Moonlight Breakfast, who delighted the residents at the last edition of Picnic in the Park.
Beside the scene concerts, Cluj residents will be able to participate at mini-theatre plays and acoustic music sessions. The organisers will also prepare a lounge zone and a series of contests for all ages. The people can come with their picnic baskets from home or they can buy food and drinks from the zone arranged in the park.Picnic in the Park is organised by Fapte Association in collaboration with Iulius Mall.
